RADIANT HEATED FLOOR
On a chilly winter morning, what better way to start the day then stepping down onto a nice, toasty warm floor?
Our underlayments are fast-applied, engineered light-weight cementitious cements formulated specifically for interior electrical and hot water based radiant heated floor systems. The formulations of these cements are designed to be used within the elevated operating temperature ranges associated with radiant heated floor systems.
Unlike traditional concrete, the non-shrinking properties of our engineered light-weight cements lock in and encase the electrical cables and hot water tubes (minimum of 1-1/4” up to 2” in depth) in non-combustible gypsum, formulated to resist breakdown up to 66 °C (150 °F) without air bubbles. These characteristics create a superior thermal mass that provides uniform heat transfer and sound attenuating qualities, maximizing the overall performance of the heating system while preventing tube chafing.
Our engineered light-weight cements are an energy efficient and cost-effective way to create a smooth, flat, evenly heated floor surface able to accept any type of floor coverings our clients choose.
Benefits:
- Provides superior thermal mass and heating system responsiveness for uniform heat transfer.
- Locks in and encases electrical cables and hot water tubes without air bubbles.
- Resists heat deterioration up to 66 °C (150 °F).
- Quick curing cement that can be walked on in 90 minutes.
- High flexibility that does not produce shrinkage cracks or curling.
- No structural weight limitations due to light-weight cement properties.
- Creates a smooth, flat, evenly heated floor surface able to accept any type of floor coverings.
- Provides sound attenuating qualities by increasing STC “Sound Transmission Class” Rating (airborne noise) by mitigating sound transfer between floors.
- Eliminates squeaks and nail pops common in wood underlayments.
- Seals room perimeter walls for increased energy efficiency and keeps out baseboard drafts.
- Classified as a “Green Product” and “GREENGUARD Gold Certified” by possessing low VOC emissions and contributing to several “LEED” credit areas.
- Contains no urea formaldehyde.
